As the long weekend approaches, our team at Myles is all set to hit the highway for yet another stimulating, monsoon road-trip. Unlike some people who prefer to hop inside a train or on a plane for their vacations, we, wherever possible, choose to drive. For, nothing moves like the road! And there can be no better feeling than watching the rain pour as you drive through the authentic Indian terrains, listening to the motley mix of English and Hindi tunes that you can effortlessly sing along.
While we typically tune into a radio station or depend on the vast library of Soundcloud or Wynk to pass hours on the highway, this time we will surrender the soundtrack to the playlist that we have collectively and painstakingly curated.
Painstakingly so, because there is a little bit of everything, right from a combination of classics and brand new to a mix of guilty pleasures, mellow jams and indie rock. At the same time we have ensured that the energy flow is consistent and transitions smooth, passing on the mood we are hoping for.
Our playlist of 14 songs, begins with a hit (Born to Be Wild)—but not the hit (Highway to Hell) – the deeper, more reflective songs in the middle (Phirse Udd Chala and Life is a highway), and something cheerful (Dil Chahta Hai) at the end.
Take your pick and whatever you choose to listen to, press play, put down your phone, look out the window and enjoy the highway rains. And do share with us your favorite tunes for this monsoon.
