Antelope Canyon is a dreamlike landscape of otherworldly shapes, constantly changing colors and moving shafts of sunlight. Many years ago, herds of Pronghorn Antelope roamed freely in, and around the canyon, which explains the name. This incredible canyon has been created over many thousands of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes.

One of the main natural attractions of China is Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve featuring the incredibly beautiful and mysterious Five Flower Lake. One of its main characteristics is explained by the name of the lake. Its water periodically changes colours and can be yellow, then green, and then blue. Most often, the water is of saturated diamond-blue colour. The constant change of colour is just one of the features of the lake.

Zhangye National Park, Gansu, China

The colourful Zhangye Danxia National Geopark is one of the most beautiful landforms in all of China. Known for its vivid kaleidoscope of rock formations, these striking hills can be found in the northwest part of the country. Comprising some 322 square kilometres or 124 square miles, the Zhangye Dankia Geopark is the 4th travel adventure in the series A world far and away. The Zhangye Danxia National Park is located in the northern foothills of the Qilian Mountains, in the counties of Linze and Sunan. This is under the administration of the city of Zhangye in Gansu province. The main areas of the Danxia landform, are in the Kangle and Baiyin townships.

The panoramic flower gardens for casual enjoyment of the grand nature of Hokkaido. The name Shikisai-no-Oka is created by combining “Shikisai (colour)” and “Shiki (four seasons)”. This is a flower garden where you can leap into the grand nature of Hokkaido throughout the year. Shikisai-no-Oka is in Biei-Cho, a scenic town on a hill. Here, a 7-hectare hill is carpeted with flowers from April to October. You can enjoy the colours and fragrance of several dozen different flowers such as tulip, lupine, lavender, salvia, sunflower, dahlia and Japanese anemone according to the season. This is a mascot of the garden named Roll-kun (Little Roll). How cute it is!

Crystal Channel, Colombia

Cano Cristales – Crystal River. River of five colours, as the locals call it, originates in the south of the mountain chain Macarena, Colombia, and flows eastward to its confluence with the Guayabero river. In the Cano, Cristales found five colours: yellow, blue, green, black and red. All of them are a waste product of many algae and, depending on the time of year, colour saturation, or weakened or strengthened.

Lake Hillier, Australia

Did you ever think that there are lakes that turn pink for real? One of them is Lake Hillier. Situated on Middle Island, the largest in the Australian archipelago, it is consisted of at least 100 islands, near Cape Arid. It is a salt lake without tributaries located 600 meters from the ocean and separated from it by a narrow strip of land. Its shape resembles that of a human footprint that extends from the edge of the forest and which is separated by a portion of land consisting of sand and salt. The vegetation is composed mainly of eucalyptus trees.

Miles and miles of endless colours paint the horizon, as Holland’s flagship crop begins to bloom. As Kai had never seen the Dutch tulips in all their vivid existence. It is suggested that we take our first road trip pit stop in Lisse, where the rainbow-coloured tulip fields are both abundant and magnificent.

Gardens of Stowe is a self-guided garden tour that takes visitors through some of Stowe’s most unique and interesting private and commercial gardens at your own pace. This rain-or-shine event concludes with a special tented reception at Jewish Community of Stowe, featuring Vermont Public Radio’s Master Gardener, Charlie Nardozzi, floral arranging, a silent auction and delicious catering by Vermont Kosher Catering. This is the only ticketed annual fundraiser for Stowe Vibrancy.
