Horsley Hills

Horsley Hills, also known as Horsleykonda or Yenugulla Mallamma Konda, are the hills located in Andhra Pradesh. The hills are about 14 km from Madanapalle town in Madanapalle Taluk of Chittoor District. Originally named as Yenugu Mallama Konda, the hill got its name after a legend associated to a saintly old woman named Mallamma, who used to live atop the hill and is believed to have been fed by the elephants or yenugula. The place later came to be known as Horsley hills when a British collector, W.D. Horsley, built his home here around 1870.

Horsley Hills is a scenic hill station nestled between the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Perched at a height of 4312 m, this natural marvel is well known for its breathtaking landscapes. Interestingly, Horsley Hills is home to the largest Banyan Tree and the oldest Eucalyptus Tree. The place is blessed with dense forests and a wide variety of flora and fauna, nearly 113 species of birds. As a tourist destination, Horsley Hills are a true haven for nature lovers and bird watchers. The place also doubles as an adventure sports destination for activities like wall climbing, water walking, trampoline, shooting, bow and arrow, rappelling, swimming pools and fish spa.
